Wildcats lacrosse bounced, 27-3
INDIANAPOLIS — Freshmen Tess Kostelec, Bianca Kinder and Emily Dvorak scored goals but it wasn’t nearly enough as the Northern Michigan University lacrosse team fell to No. 15 Indianapolis 27-3 on Friday.
Indy jumped out to a 9-0 lead before Kostelec notched her eight goal about 13 1/2 minutes into the game. Kinder got her ninth a little over six minutes later, but the Greyhounds still had a 11-2 advantage.
Indy (8-3, 4-2 GLIAC) scored the final five goals of the first half and 10 more to start the second half before Dvorak rounded out NMU’s scoring with her team-leading 26th goal of the season with 4:59 left.
Kostelec also led the Wildcats (1-8, 0-6) with four draw controls.
Next up for NMU is a game at GLIAC opponent McKendree University at noon EDT today in Lebanon, Illinois.
