NMU football sets spring schedule

MARQUETTE – The Northern Michigan University spring football game in early April will culminate four weeks of practice for the Wildcats that begin in about 2 1/2 weeks.

All practice sessions, which begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, are open to the public. Each practice takes place indoors at the Superior Dome.

The spring game is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, in the dome. Just before that on game day, a youth clinic will be held for children ages 3-13 from 1:15-1:45 p.m.

The day before the game, Friday, April 8, NMU will hold its spring showcase at 6:30 p.m., when fans can talk with players and coaches off the field. The event will include contests, door prizes and auctions.

Practices will be held at 6:30 a.m. each Tuesday and Wednesday between the first practice and the spring game.

These are additional practice times: Sunday, March 13 – 9 a.m.; Thursday, March 24 – 6:30 a.m. (scrimmage); Thursday, March 31 – 6:30 a.m.; Saturday, April 2 – 9 a.m. (scrimmage); Friday, April 8 – 3:20 p.m.
