NMU men eye end to skid

MARQUETTE – Coach Bill Sall’s Northern Michigan University basketball team will look to end a five-game losing streak to Lake Superior State when the two teams meet at 7:30 p.m. today in Sault Ste. Marie.

The Wildcats will take a 5-11 overall and 3-9 GLIAC records into the game. LSSU is 13-5 and 8-4.

Naba Echols will lead NMU offensively. He’s averaging 14.2 points, with teammates Jordan Perez (12.2) and Terry Nash (10.1) also in double figures.

Devin Daly at 21.5 points and 9.2 rebounds leads LSSU with Akaemji Williams contributing 18.4 points a game.

At 3 p.m. Saturday, the Wildcats will play Northwood (10-8, 6-6) in Midland.

Maurice Jones (21.0) and Dylan Langkabel (15.1) lead the Timberwolves in scoring.
