NMU men golfers ranked
MARQUETTE – It’s the highest ranking in the program’s history.
The Northern Michigan University men’s golf team has been tabbed as No. 19 in the nation – and No. 1 in the Midwest – in this week’s Golfstat rankings.
“The men have played great so far,” head coach Kyle Wittenbach said. “They had a fall season to remember and we’re looking forward to the spring.”
The Wildcats have remained No. 1 in the Midwest since achieving that ranking on Oct. 7.
NMU finished in the top five at all four invitational meets it competed at, highlighted by a win at the Wildcat Invitational on Sept. 13 and second-place finish at the NCAA Midwest Fall Regional on Sept. 29.
The Wildcats began the fall campaign at No. 115 in the nation and No. 17 in the region.
