Wildcat skaters fall to Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – After a big win over archrival Michigan Tech last Saturday, the Northern Michigan University Wildcats were dealt a big loss Friday.

The Wildcats fell to Alabama-Huntsville 2-1 despite outshooting the Chargers 33-15.

NMU also went 0 of 7 on the power play after having some success the last two weekends.

After a scoreless first period, UAH got on the board first on a goal by Jack Prince.

The Chargers then went up by two goals later in the second frame on an unassisted goal by Frank Misuraca.

NMU (9-7-5 overall, 6-7-4 WCHA) got one back in the third period on Shane Sooth’s third goal of the season, but the Wildcats were unable to get the equalizer despite 14 shots in the period.

The Wildcats play the Chargers at 8:07 p.m. today.
