MARQUETTE – Senior Kyle Bratrud of the Northern Michigan University nordic ski team has been named the Central Collegiate Ski Association men’s Skier of the Week following his performance at the U.S. Championships last week.

Bratrud won the 15-kilometer freestyle race, taking home his first national title, dominating the field with a 50-second margin of victory.

Bratrud then continued with his strong performance and led most of the 30K classic race, finishing third overall after a sprint to the finish.

His weekend was capped by a selection to Team USA for the Under-23 World Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan, in early February.
