Blue Line Club plans luncheon

MARQUETTE – The Blue Line Club at Northern Michigan University will hold a luncheon Friday as the No. 19 Wildcats prepare to host No. 14 Bowling Green State University on Friday and Saturday nights at the Berry Events Center.

The event begins with lunch served at 11:30 a.m. in the Wildcat Room of the BEC. Cost is $12.50.

The program, including talks by Wildcats head coach Walt Kyle and several of his players, should begin at about 12:15 or 12:30 p.m. with the event set to wrap up about 1 p.m.

New for the luncheons this year is the attendance of the entire NMU hockey team.

Northern and BGSU square off at 7:07 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Berry Events Center.

During the Saturday game, the NMU Student-Athletic Advisory Committee will hold a teddy bear toss for Toys For Tots. Fans are encouraged to bring teddy bears to the game to throw on the ice during the first intermission, with football SAAC members to collect them for donation to children in need during the holiday season.
