Gwinn’s Brooke Mannor of Bay College women’s basketball team an NJCAA Academic All-American

ESCANABA — An area resident is among the 13 student-athletes at Bay College to be honored as Academic All-Americans by the National Junior College Athletic Association.

A sophomore on the Norse women’s basketball team last season, Brooke Mannor of Gwinn was honored along with two of her teammates, freshmen Chevy Koski of Rock and Breanna Arsenault of Hermansville.

Mannor earned an All-Academic Second Team mention by having a grade-point average between 3.80 and 3.99.

Making the NJCAA First Team with perfect 4.00 GPAs were sophomore baseball players Ernesto Gomez and David Ibn Ezra and freshman men’s basketball player Marcus Johnson of Iron Mountain.

Joining Mannor, Koski and Arsenault on the Second Team were sophomore baseball players Jackson Bower of Bark River, Dan Harrington of Iron Mountain and Carson Shea of Gladstone; freshman baseball player Grant Craft; and freshman men’s basketball player Ashton Janke of Dollar Bay.

On the Third Team were freshman baseball player Sam O’Neal of Rock and freshman men’s cross country runner John Stevenson III of Escanaba.
