Jenny Anderson, Jackie Skradski lead Eagles to Iron Range Women’s Softball League win

ISHPEMING — Jenny Anderson hit a triple and double while going 4 for 4 to help the Eagles defeat Willey’s Tire Shop 17-10 in a Class C game of the Iron Range Women’s Softball League on July 14.

In an abbreviated schedule due to five games being rained out, the Eagles’ Jackie Skradski homered and went 2 for 4 in support of winning pitcher Elaina Treloar.

Willey’s Miranda Cobb hit a triple and double while teammate Emma Currie went 3 for 3.

In Class A, Nikki Whitford and Chelsie Katalin both went 5 for 5 to lead Heritage Glove Repair to a 28-1 bombing of Tino’s, whose Miranda Roose went 3 for 3 and Kassy Carlson doubled.

Also in “A,” Hannah Holma doubled and went 3 for 3 as Screened Image-Venice 2 slipped past Buck’s Party Store 16-13.

The winners’ Mandie Meyer was 4 for 4, while Buck’s Nik Schultz went 3 for 4.

In Class B, Jordan Kowalski cracked a pair of homers to lead 906 Sports Bar past Signs Unlimited 34-10.

Also in “B,” Kim Koski was 3 for 3 and Traci Sundberg tripled as Martin Sports eked out a 6-4 victory over Quality Car Care, whose Lori Rivord homered.
