Northern Michigan University hockey team hosts Friends and Family golf outing

MARQUETTE — The equipment change for the Northern Michigan University hockey team will only be temporary as the Wildcats trade sticks for clubs on the golf course later this month.

The Wildcats will host the Friends and Family Golf Outing on Friday, Sept. 20, at the Greywalls course of the Marquette Golf Club.

Cost is $350 per team, or $87.50 for an individual. The fee includes nine holes of golf with an NMU hockey player, two drink tickets and hors d’oeuvres afterward.

Registration runs the day of the event from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. A program to follow will be held in the MGC Clubhouse.

In addition, the Larry “Fungo” Heiskanen Trophy will be presented to the winners from both the front and back nines.

Participants can sign up online at https://nmu.universitytickets.com. For questions or more information, call NMU head coach Grant Potulny at 227-1209 or email him at gpotulny@nmu.edu.
