Symetra Tour confirms Island Resort women’s golf stop for 2019

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — The Symetra Tour in women’s professional golf announced its 2019 schedule, which includes the ninth annual Island Resort Championship to be held at the Sweetgrass Golf Club in Harris from June 21-23.

That event is the second event in the four-stop Potawatomi Cup held in June and August and hosted by four member tribes of the Potawatomi Nation. Bonus payouts are made in addition to regular payouts at each stop.

Overall, the Symetra Tour features 24 tournaments in 15 states with more than $4 million in prize money, the most in its 39-year history.

Each year since 2008, the top 10 players on the official season money list are awarded LPGA Tour membership. The next 20 on the money list will go to the second annual LPGA Q-Series to earn other LPGA spots. More than 340 players from 45 countries held Symetra 2019 membership.
