Kivi, Pliska lead Marquette girls in win over Gladstone
R-M falls to North Dickinson
MARQUETTE — Sydney Kivi led the way with 13 points while Bridget Pliska scored 12 points as the Marquette girls basketball team defeated Gladstone 56-36 at the MSHS gym on Tuesday night.
The Redettes improved to 3-0 as head coach Ben Smith was happy with Tuesday night’s performance.
“It was a good home start with Avery (Ledy), Sydney and Bridget all closing in on double-doubles,” the coach said. “Chloe (Hale) helped push the tempo finishing with seven assists.”
Ledy added nine points and 13 rebounds.
The Redettes opened with a 15-9 lead after one quarter, extending it to 27-15 by halftime.
Marquette travels to Escanaba on Thursday.
North Dickinson 63, Republic-Michigamme 30
At Felch, R-M fell behind 17-5 after the first quarter and the Nordics never looked back, outscoring the Hawks 46-25 over the final three quarters.
Allie Radcliffe and Tailyn Raisanen led the Hawks with eight points apiece.
ND also won the JV game 33-17. R-M plays at Mid Peninsula Friday.
