MARQUETTE — Sydney Kivi led the way with 13 points while Bridget Pliska scored 12 points as the Marquette girls basketball team defeated Gladstone 56-36 at the MSHS gym on Tuesday night.

The Redettes improved to 3-0 as head coach Ben Smith was happy with Tuesday night’s performance.

“It was a good home start with Avery (Ledy), Sydney and Bridget all closing in on double-doubles,” the coach said. “Chloe (Hale) helped push the tempo finishing with seven assists.”

Ledy added nine points and 13 rebounds.

The Redettes opened with a 15-9 lead after one quarter, extending it to 27-15 by halftime.

Marquette travels to Escanaba on Thursday.
