Wendt leads Munising spikers to sweep of SC
MUNISING — Kianne Wendt was an offensive machine, making 20 kills to lead Munising over Superior Central in a Skyline Central Conference volleyball match on Thursday.
The Mustangs scored a three-set sweep, 25-11, 25-17, 25-19, to improve to 9-1 in the Skyline and 19-5-4 overall.
“The girls showed a solid defensive effort as a team,” MHS coach Ted Williams said. “There was a point in the third game where things got tight, but we were able to recover and pull through.”
Wendt also made 10 digs and had a block, while teammate Daryn Johnson added six kills, Marissa Ackerman 21 digs, Kelsea Ackerman eight service aces and seven digs, and Emily Contreras 23 assists and nine digs.
Munising also won the JV match, 19-25, 25-15, 15-12.
