SAGOLA — The Upper Peninsula Strongman will be held at 1 p.m. EDT on Aug. 5 at the Butler Potato Farm on M-69, four miles west of Sagola heading toward Crystal Falls in Dickinson County.

This is a weightlifting event with a women’s division and five men’s divisions — master open, featherweight (up to 175 pounds), lightweight (up to 200), middleweight (up to 230) and heavyweight (over 230). Participation is open to those ages 16 and older.

Competition is scheduled in farmer’s carry, overhead lift medley, push-pull prowler, stone over bar-rock lift and medley — sandbag carry, Conan wheel and tire chain lift.
