Redettes drop two games to Kingsford
Good pitching from Wiggins, McIntire not enough against Flivvers
MARQUETTE — The Marquette softball was dealt a pair of one-run losses Thursday afternoon as it fell to Kingsford 2-1 in the first game and 4-3 in the second.
In the opener, the Redettes were led offensively by Hannah Bulinski, who went 2 for 4 with a run scored. Kaleigh Duncan also had two hits for Marquette.
Chelsea Wiggins took the loss in the circle for the Redettes after giving up four hits and striking out 12 Flivvers.
In the nightcap, Bulinski had another solid game at the plate as she went 2 for 4 with a double and two runs scored, while Sofia Vandenende had a base hit and two RBI for the Redettes.
Megan McIntire was dealt the loss for Marquette after giving up two hits and notching four strikeouts.
The Redettes will compete in the Escanaba Invitational Saturday.
