NMU to host hockey clinics

MARQUETTE – A free hockey shooting and stickhandling clinic run by Northern Michigan University players and coaches is scheduled for April 11-14 at the Berry Events Center in Marquette.

The April 11 and 13 clinics are for Mites and first-year Squirts. The April 12 and 14 sessions are for second-year Squirts, PeeWees and Bantams.

A player’s classification as a Mite, Squirt, PeeWee or Bantam will be determined based on the level he or she played during the 2015-16 season. Participants are required to wear the proper equipment such as helmets, pads, etc.

The clinics are open to players of all ability levels.

Registration begins at 4:15 p.m. each day. Attendees will receive on-ice instruction from Wildcat coaches and players from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m.

Parents can fill out their program registration form in advance by downloading this link, or can fill it out during the registration period the day of the event.

On April 16, the Wildcats’ coaching staff will hold a free coaching clinic in the Wildcat Room of the BEC from 9 to 11:30 a.m.

The coaching clinic is open to coaches of all levels. Coffee and donuts will be served.
