HOUGHTON – Former Marquette Senior High School running back Alex Sherbinow earned a collegiate football honor on Wednesday while playing at Michigan Tech.

The sophomore fullback was named to the 2015 Don Hanson All-Super Region 4 team, joining linebacker teammate Paul Kuoppala of Iron Mountain.

Sherbinow, a 2013 MSHS graduate and all-Great Northern Conference back as a senior there, had 11 touchdowns last fall to lead the 2015 MTU team in scoring and set a record by a Huskies fullback.

That included nine rushing TDs as he rushed 29 times for 139 yards and two TDs receiving as he had five total receptions for 35 yards.

The Huskies were 7-3 last fall and have been 16-5 over the past two years.
