NMU game at GLI not shown live

MARQUETTE – The Northern Michigan University hockey game against the University of Michigan on Tuesday at the Great Lakes Invitational will not be televised live, apparently due to simultaneous games also being played by the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Pistons.

The 7 p.m. game, one of two semifinal games at the 51st annual tournament held at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, will be broadcast live by NMU’s flagship radio station, The Point, WUPT 100.3 FM, out of Marquette.

The game will also be televised on a delayed basis at 11:30 p.m. that evening on Fox Sports Detroit as the Red Wings play on that station at 8 p.m. and the Pistons play on its sister station, Fox Sports-Detroit Plus, at 7:30 p.m.

Tuesday’s other game, at 3:30 p.m. between Michigan Tech and Michigan State, will be shown live on FSD.

In addition, Wednesday’s consolation game at 3:30 p.m. and championship at 7 p.m. will be televised by Fox Sports Detroit with no Red Wings or Pistons games conflicting.
