Iron Rangers host events

MARQUETTE – The Marquette Iron Rangers adult hockey team will hold several events related to its kickoff weekend at home and a visit by the Hanson brothers who appeared in the 1970s cult hockey film “Slap Shot.”

The trio, actor David Hanson and ex-Iron Rangers players Steve Carlson and Jeff Carlson, will be at Lakeview Arena during the game on Saturday night against the Portage Lake Pioneers.

The related meet-and-greet events with the Carlsons also take place Saturday. A luncheon will be held at Perkins Restaurant in Marquette from 1 to 3 p.m. that includes a meal and game tickets for $30, while another meet-and-greet will be held at the Citizens Forum, formerly Donors Room, at Lakeview from 5 to 7 p.m. and includes a door prize for each attendee, beverage tickets and a game ticket for $40.

Game tickets are available at the Iron Rangers’ office at Lakeview daily through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. Tickets on Saturday are $10 for adults, $5 for students, seniors and active members of the military and free for children 10 years and under.

Regular prices for Iron Rangers games are the same except general adult tickets are $7, which includes the team’s inaugural game at 8 p.m. Friday at home vs. the Calumet Wolverines.
