ISHPEMING – Favorites won with several close matches on Wednesday in the Ishpeming Twilight Horseshoe League.

In the Major League, Maki’s Mini-Mart downed Pine Grove Bar and Riverside Club beat StoneHouse, each match 10-8.

In the Classic League, Willey’s Tire Shop got another 10-8 victory over American Legion. Household Appliance dropped Cascade Inn 14-4 and Negaunee VFW doubled up Paradise Bar 12-6.

In the Classic League, Willey’s held off Paradise, 10-8. In other matches, undefeated Household Appliance doubled up American Legion, 12-6, while second-place Negaunee VFW downed Cascade Inn, 11-7.

In the Major League, StoneHouse eked past Pine Grove, 10-8, to remain within shouting distance of front-running Riverside, which dropped Maki’s Mini-Mart, 12-6.
