MARQUETTE – A pair of community track and field meets hosted by Northern Michigan University’s team have been scheduled during the next month.

The Track Tuesday events will be held at 6 p.m. July 28 and Aug. 4 at the Marquette Senior High School track, located around the football field.

The events to be held include the 100-, 200-, 400-, 800-, 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs. A long jump competition is also slated.

Times will be announced during the meets, but will not be recorded. Participants are advised to bring their own stopwatch if they want to record times.

Cost to compete is a $5 minimum donation, with all proceeds going towards expenses for the upcoming NMU track and field season.

Registration and check-in for the meets will begin at 4:30 p.m. each day and run until 5:45 p.m.
