NMU volleyball loses at Ferris

BIG RAPIDS – The Northern Michigan University Wildcats couldn’t overcome tough nationally ranked competition in the Lower Peninsula on Saturday.

The Wildcats lost to No. 22 Ferris State in three sets, 25-12, 25-14, 25-14, to drop to 10-12 overall and 10-3 in the GLIAC. It marked the second conference loss this weekend and overall was NMU’s sixth straight setback.

Northern’s Meghan Seymour had 15 assists and Anna Aycock three aces as teammates Madison Whitehead and Alex Larsen combined for 14 kills.

The Wildcats head to Michigan Tech for a GLIAC match at 7 p.m.Tuesday. NMU defeated the Huskies in four sets at their home Vandament Arena in September.
