Detroit Tigers, Minnesota Twins rained out Sunday, makeup set for mid-July

DETROIT (AP) — The series finale between the Minnesota Twins and Detroit Tigers scheduled for Sunday at Comerica Park was postponed because of rain before the game got started.

The game will be made up as part of a day-night doubleheader on July 16, which originally was a night game in Detroit. Those will be the first games for the teams after the All-Star break.

The makeup game will start at 2:10 p.m. and be followed by the second game at 7:10 p.m.

Minnesota won Friday’s series opener 7-3 after two rain delays, then lost Saturday, also 7-3.

Tigers lefty Matthew Boyd will have his start pushed back to Tuesday’s series opener against Kansas City. Casey Mize will start Wednesday and Spencer Turnbull goes Thursday.
