Marquette Senior High School in line to host girls, boys district basketball finals

MARQUETTE — Marquette Senior High School will host championship games in MHSAA district basketball tournaments this weekend for both girls and boys if they advance that far.

That’s according to MSHS athletic director Alex Tiseo, who also confirmed times in a Monday email.

The Redmen and Redettes are participating in Division 1 tourneys that otherwise are completely made up of northern Lower Peninsula schools — Petoskey, Alpena, Gaylord and two from Traverse City.

If the Redettes win at Petoskey on Wednesday, Marquette will host the district championship at 6 p.m. Friday against whichever Traverse City school wins in their semifinal on Wednesday, Central or West.

And if the MSHS boys win at Traverse City West or Alpena on Thursday, the Redmen host their championship game at 1 p.m. Saturday against Petoskey, Gaylord or Traverse City Central.
