13 Northern Michigan University Wildcats skiers earn national All-Academic honors

MARQUETTE — Better than a regular dozen, a baker’s dozen of Northern Michigan University Nordic skiers were named to the All-Academic Ski Team by the U.S. Collegiate Ski Coaches Association.

The 13 Wildcats — seven men and six women — qualified by attaining a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average as the requirement of participating in an NCAA regional was waived this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The NMU men’s team members recognized are sophomores Matt Bourne, Maurus Grond and Kristoffer Karsrud; seniors Zak Ketterson, Xavier Mansfield and Tobias Moosmann; and graduate student Kjetil Baanerud.

For the Northern women, earning the honor are sophomores Malin Boerjesjoe, Hilde Eide, Gretchen Haggenmiller and Molly Miller; and juniors Savanna Fassio and Nadine Matter.
