MARQUETTE — Not every area football player can earn a spot on the Upper Peninsula Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association All-U.P. teams, but that didn’t mean they weren’t recognized by the voters.

Marquette offensive lineman Chris Ricker earned honorable mention honors, as did Negaunee fullback Lukas Nelson and tight end Eli Luokkala.

Joining them were Gwinn offensive linemen Cameron Ghiringhelli and linebacker Carl Peterson.

L’Anse also had a several players make that list with quarterback Alex Kissel and receiver-end Steele Jondreau.
