Marquette Redettes win Great Northern Conference match at Kingsford
KINGSFORD — The Marquette Senior High School volleyball team scored a Great Northern Conference victory with a three-set win at Kingsford on Thursday night.
The Redettes won 25-20, 25-16, 25-9 to improve to 7-1.
“(This was a) big, big conference win for us,” MSHS head coach Ann Crandell-Williams said in an email. “Our team came out swinging and didn’t let up for the entire match. Our players served tough with few errors, which seemed to have Kingsford on their heels.
“Seiler Hruska swung hard as usual and Roxy Nelson had an especially great night for us.”
Hruska led Marquette with 15 of its 23 kills that led to a .306 attack percentage. She also had four service aces without an error and 13 digs.
Nelson added 12 digs, three solo blocks, three kills and three aces.
And Maria Millado matched Hruska with 13 digs to go with seven blocks, five of them solo, and four aces.
