Northern Michigan University men’s soccer team loses 4th straight 1-0 decision

MARQUETTE — The men’s soccer team at Northern Michigan University has found itself stuck in a rut after losing for the fourth straight time by the same score of 1-0 on Sunday.

This was a home loss to Saginaw Valley State that leaves the Wildcats at 3-7 overall, 2-4 in the GLIAC. SVSU is 6-3-1 and 4-2.

The game’s lone goal came from the Cardinals’ Alex Gloshen unassisted in the 54th minute, a little over eight minutes into the second half.

For NMU, senior Callum Olpin had four of his team’s seven shots, including two of their four that were on goal.

In goal, sophomore Patrick Restum made four saves.

The Wildcats remain home at the NMU Soccer Field to take on Wisconsin-Parkside at 1 p.m. Saturday before taking to the road for their rest of their games this month.
