ISHPEMING — After three years at the helm of the Ishpeming boys basketball program, head coach Anthony Katona has stepped down.

In an interview Tuesday, Hematites athletic director Terry Roberts said that it was Katona’s “personal decision” to resign.

During his time with the Hematites, Katona took Ishpeming to the 2017 and 2018 Class C district finals, losing to Westwood on a buzzer-beater in the latter.
