And Wildcats head coach Sten Fjeldheim was named CCSA Coach of the Year on Thursday.

Ketterson won every conference race he entered this season and was named a two-time All-American at the NCAA Championships, where he was seventh in the 20-kilometer classic race and 10th in the 10K skate.

At the U.S. National Championships, Ketterson posted three top-10 finishes and was named to the U.S. Under-23 World Championship team.

Jarzin was NMU’s top women’s finisher in both races at the NCAA Championships, and was the only true freshman to take All-American honors, finishing seventh in the 5k skate. She was also 14th in the 15K classic.

Jarzin was the top NCAA qualifier from the CCSA regular-season qualifying races, winning the 5K skate at the regional championship and the 15K classic at the CCSA Championships.

Fjeldheim is in his 32nd season leading the NMU Nordic teams. Both men’s and women’s teams dominated the Central region, consistently having athletes in both the men’s and women’s events atop the podium.

This season, his team won the College Cup at the U.S. National Championships and finished fourth among Nordic teams at the NCAA Championships.

His efforts led to six All-American performances to push his career total to 103 All-Americans in his tenure.

Some members of the Wildcats ski teams are participating at the U.S. Distance Nationals in Presque Isle, Maine, which started Thursday and run through Tuesday.
