MARQUETTE — Marquette Senior High School will host a special varsity basketball doubleheader against Kingsford starting late Friday afternoon.

The Redettes girls team was already scheduled to host the Flivvers at 7:15 p.m., but following the postponement of Monday’s boys game against the same school, the Redmen will now host Kingsford that same day at 5:30 p.m., according to a news release from the Marquette athletics website, www.mqtathletics.com.

That boys game was originally scheduled to be played in Kingsford.

The varsity contests will be held in the main MSHS gym, the Barb Crill Gymnasium, while freshman and JV games against Kingsford will be played in the school’s new auxiliary gym with this schedule — girls freshman game, 4 p.m.; girls JV game, 5:30 p.m.; and boys JV game, 7:15 p.m.

Spirit Week festivities, including the introduction of the court members and king and queen, takes place at halftime of the girls varsity game.
