Northern Michigan University women’s lacrosse falls to No. 3 Lindenwood

MARQUETTE — The Northern Michigan University women’s lacrosse team completes a long-weekend road trip at Notre Dame College in South Euclid, Ohio, on Tuesday afternoon.

The Wildcats lost the opener of the trip against the nation’s No. 3 team, Lindenwood, 18-4 in St. Charles, Missouri, on Saturday.

Freshman Emily Dvorak led NMU (0-2) with three goals on five shots, while sophomore Graison Ringlever had a goal in five shots and led the team with three ground balls. Teammate Bianca Kinda had a Northern-best five draw controls as she and Megan Palacio and Shannon Walus each had two ground balls.

NMU freshman goalie Emily Karbaum made 15 saves.

Dvorak and Ringlever scored goals 34 seconds apart about five minutes into the game to tie it 2-2. But Lindenwood (5-0) responded with 11 straight goals over the balance of the first half to take a 13-2 lead at the break.
