CALUMET — A half-dozen players from L’Anse earned honors from the West PAC in football as chosen by coaches recently.

Senior Foster Miller (5-foot-10, 180 pounds) was named First Team Offense as a running back. On First Team Defense, senior Kooper Jahfetson (6-foot, 195) was named as an end and junior Reese Waara (5-8, 160) as kicker.

On the Second Team, junior Max Ostermeyer (6-2, 270) was named as an offensive lineman, while senior Joe Magaraggia (6-1, 205) earned honors as a defensive lineman.

In addition, Purple Hornets senior Joey Francois was named honorable mention.

Among top awards, league champion West Iron County earned two of the four — senior running back Jayce Brockhagen was named Offensive Player of the Year and Mike Berutti was named Coach of the Year.

In addition, Calumet senior lineman Cooper Twardzik was named Defensive Player of the Year and Hurley senior Isaac DeCarlo earned Special Teams Player of the Year.
