Negaunee’s Ally Jacobson heads Mid-Peninsula Conference volleyball

MARQUETTE — Senior Ally Jacobson of Negaunee was named the Player of the Year in volleyball on Monday for the Mid-Peninsula Conference as chosen by the coaches.

Gwinn placed two players on the all-league First Team — senior Brenna Bruce and junior Brooke Mannor — with the balance including Westwood senior Elizabeth Farley, Ishpeming senior Madigan Johns, Manistique sophomore Lenna Smith and Iron Mountain’s Riley Poupore.

Manistique junior Joslyn Muth made the Second Team along with Emma Thomann, Taylor Talerico and Jordan Weslin of Iron Mountain and Kaitlyn Hardwick and Maddie Lakosky of Gladstone.

The All-Defensive Team includes senior Ielee Shiroda of Negaunee, who also was named M-PC honorable mention. The balance of the top defenders are junior Myah McNab of Ishpeming, senior Heidi Eden of Gwinn, junior Sydny Peterson of Manistique, Talerico of Iron Mountain and Hardwick of Gladstone.

The other honorable mentions are senior Tierra Taylor and junior Trisha McGuire of Gwinn, junior Madison Pruett of Ishpeming, sophomore Emilee McDaniel of Manistique and Chasey Williams of Gladstone.
