Kyle Hemminger leads Superior Central football all-league honors

RAPID RIVER — Kyle Hemminger was Superior Central’s top award winner in the Western Eight Conference football awards recently handed out.

The senior was named conference Individual Sportsmanship Award winner in polling conducted by the league’s coaches.

Earning all-conference honors were Cougars junior quarterback Beau Rondeau, junior running back Roubens Fink and senior linebacker Wade Krysiak. Honorable mentions went out to SC junior Noah Groulx and senior Ramsey Luft.

The Cougars finished 4-5, including a non-league victory to end the season over league champion Rapid River, and 2-5 in conference.

RR coach Steve Ostrenga was named Coach of the Year, while the Rockets’ Lucas Sundling earn honors as the top punter/kicker.

Other top award winners were Montel Glover of Stephenson, Offensive Back of the Year and Return Specialist; Jake Witt of Ontonagon, Offensive Lineman of the Year; Bryce Hornick of Stephenson and James Domitrovich of Ontonagon, sharing Defensive Lineman of the Year; and Lucas Dombrowski of North Central, Defensive Back/Lineman of the Year.
