MARQUETTE — Playoff times have been officially set for three area high school football teams involved in the first round of the MHSAA playoffs.

Newberry (6-2) plays at Frankfort (6-2) at 7 p.m. Friday.

Saturday’s schedule has Westwood (8-1) at Elk Rapids (7-2) at 1 p.m., while Munising (4-4) will go to Gaylord St. Mary (9-0) at 3 p.m.

These are pre-district games, and Munising would play at Newberry the following weekend if both win in the first round.

A Westwood win puts the Patriots in a district championship game the following weekend either at Lake City (9-0) or hosting McBain (7-2).
