Fjeldheim was named the Coach of the Year while Adam Martin was honored as both the men’s Athlete of the Year and Central NCAA Athlete of the Year.

Nicole Schneider captured the women’s Athlete of the Year award, while Vivian Hett was tabbed as the Central NCAA Athlete of the Year.

Fjeldheim led the Wildcats to titles in the nine-team women’s and eight-team men’s CCSA, along with the men’s, women’s and overall NCAA Central Region crowns.

At the CCSA Championships, NMU swept three of four podiums. The Wildcats then secured 10 of 12 podium spots at the NCAA Central Region Championships.

The Wildcats went on to place fourth among Nordic teams at the NCAA Skiing Championships, bolstered by four All-American performances.

Martin swept the individual titles at the NCAA Central Region Championships and captured All-American accolades in the 10-kilometer classic and 20K freestyle at the NCAA Skiing Championships.

He also placed fifth in the skiathlon and the 50K freestyle at the U.S. Distance Championships and represented the U.S. at the World Under-23 Ski Championships for the second straight year.

Like Martin, Schneider swept the individual titles at the NCAA Central Region Championships. She also won the junior classic sprint at the U.S. Cross Country Championships and posted a pair of runner-up finishes in the 5K classic and 15K freestyle at the CCSA Championships.

Hett raced to an All-American finish in the 5K classic at the NCAA Skiing Championships. She earned a spot on the podium in three of the four races contested at the CCSA Championships and NCAA Central Region Championships and was Northern’s top finisher in the skiathlon and 30K freestyle at the U.S. Distance Championships.
