NEWBERRY — The Newberry boys and girls basketball teams each landed a First Team honoree in postseason awards recently named by the Eastern Upper Peninsula Conference.

But it was senior Indians’ girl Taylor Bryant who earned the top honor as Player of the Year.

Bryant, who earlier in the week was named Class C First Team all-state, averaged 19.4 points, 11.5 rebounds, seven assists and 6.5 steals per game, accumulating multiple triple-doubles.

She also headed up the EUP girls’ First Team.

For the Indians’ boys, senior John Paramski earned First Team honors.
