Westwood, Gwinn high schools wrestle twice during quadrangular meet

ISHPEMING — The Westwood Patriots wrestling team hosted a quadrangular meet Thursday night and won both of its matches.

The Patriots defeated Iron Mountain 51-21 and Menominee 51-24. Alaric Martin pinned both of his opponents, while Nathan Brewer won by a pin and a forfeit. Seniors Cedric Nora and Wyatt Makosky also had two victories for Westwood.

“It was Senior Night, so Wyatt and Cedric’s wins were extra special,” Westwood head coach Dan Carlson said. “I’m very proud of these guys.”

Gwinn also competed, the Modeltowners falling to the Mountaineers 36-12 and Maroons 36-18. Ryan Johnson earned two pins for Gwinn and Jaden Martinez notched one against Iron Mountain.
