WATERSMEET — It was a frustrating night for the Republic-Michigamme girls basketball team as the Hawks fell to Watersmeet 55-39 on Thursday.

The Hawks (1-10) couldn’t find an answer to Watersmeet’s Bethany Baldwin, who finished with 51 points. Shawna DuMoulin led R-M with 17.

“Our second half was better offensively, but our first half was rough,” R-M head coach April Radcliffe said.

The Nimrods held a 31-17 lead at the half and led by 24 after the third quarter.
