Redmen top squad at Westwood Relays

MARQUETTE — Though scores weren’t kept, the Marquette boys were the biggest winners at the Westwood Relays high school swim meet held at the Patriots’ pool on Saturday.

In this all-relay event, the Redmen won three events — the 200-yard medley, 200 butterfly and 400 individual medley — with Ben Luke, Matt Kurin and Ryan Glover swimming in all three. Andrew Kilpela was in two of them with Sawyer Doan also getting a winning leg in.

Ishpeming-Negaunee won two events in the boys and one in the girls, though names of their participants weren’t available.

Marquette won one girls relay, the 200 breaststroke with Jayme Winn, Anna Patmore, Taryn Aho and Paige Whaley, with Kingsford and Gladstone each winning two and Rudyard taking one.

In the mixed boys and girls events, Gladstone took two firsts and Rudyard one.
