MARQUETTE, MI - Roberta Marie "Bunny" Wells, 72, of Marquette, died Wednesday afternoon at the Norlite Nursing Center in Marquette with family members present.
She was born January 12, 1942, in Newberry, a daughter of the late Charles John and Mary Elizabeth (Stoykovich) Pum. Bunny was a 1960 graduate of Newberry High School and graduated from the Sarasota Technical School where she received a certificate in home health care.
Bunny lived and worked in Mio and Brighton, Michigan before moving to Marquette in 2003 and the Wells' often wintered in Florida. She was employed for many years as a home caregiver for Arcadia Home Health in Marquette.
She attended St. Peter Cathedral and enjoyed reading, traveling, trips to the casino's and was an avid walker.
Bunny is survived by a son, Raymond Otto of Two Rivers, WI; a granddaughter, Timber Frances Otto, also of Two Rivers, WI; siblings, Mary Lou (Richard) Marietti of Marquette, Shirley Pum of Marquette, Kathryn S. (Richard) Teigen of Moorhead, MN, Jacqueline (Nereus) Weighter of Bellingham, WA, Ada (David) Vallar of Marquette, and Sadie (Gary) Arness of Benton, KY; several nieces, nephews, aunts & cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Wells in 1995; and a sister, Carol Bucurestean in 2009.
The family would like to thank Marquette General Home Health, Lake Superior Hospice and the staff of the Norlite Nursing Center for their compassionate care.
Following Bunny's wishes, a private service will be held. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Vincent De Paul or Lake Superior Hospice.
