September 7, 2013
The Mining Journal

MARQUETTE - Students enrolled in Northern Michigan University's athletic training program are hosting a fundraiser this fall in an effort to collect first aid supplies for other athletic trainers working with the Christian Sports Medicine Alliance.

The fundraiser, hosted by the Michigan Athletic Trainers Association, began Sept. 1 and will run through Oct. 11, when NMU athletic training students will head to Grand Valley for the fall MATS seminar.

Through Oct. 11, a box will be available at every home sporting event this fall in which people can donate supplies or money.

Supplies needed include first aid equipment such as gauze, gloves and band-aids; over the counter medication such as Ibuprofen or Tinactine; and taping and bandaging equipment.
