ISHPEMING - The Ishpeming City Council has authorized an additional $8,655.85 to be spent on Ishpeming Carnegie Public Library renovations.

At a special meeting Friday, the council approved the expenditure from the special projects fund for work on the lower level of the library.

Jon Kangas, interim city manager and Ishpeming Department of Public Works superintendent, recommended the change-order to the council.

Kangas said he evaluated the additional work requested and determined it was something the architects and engineers could not have foreseen until the renovations began.
