MARQUETTE?- Mark Kolesar, former Senior Vice President with UBS Financial in Minneapolis, is now affiliated with the Trust Department of Northern Michigan Bank and Trust. He retired from UBS May 1.
Kolesar began his investment career with the Trust Department of the First National Bank in Marquette and left in 1987 to join the investment firm of Dain Bosworth in Minneapolis. In 1991, he was recruited by Paine Webber, now UBS, to build a middle market institutional fixed income business.
That business grew into also developing relationships with tier one institutional accounts and high new worth clients. In addition to his work at UBS, he has been involved with structuring and investing in numerous private equity and real estate transactions
Kolesar is a 1986 graduate of Northern Michigan University with a bachelor of science, double major; finance and economics. Later in 1986, he was chosen to attend the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, to participate in their Fundamentals of Money Management Program.
He has remained in contact with his alma mater by serving annually as a judge for the College of Business's New Business Venture competition and has also served as president of the NMU Alumni Board.
Kolesar will consult with NMB&T and its clientele, providing economic and financial market forecasts and advising on the matters of asset allocation, portfolio construction and securities research and selection.
