MARQUETTE - Unable to hold a late 3-1 lead, the Marquette Senior High School hockey team dropped a 4-3 decision to Farmington United Friday in the Trenton Showcase.

Goals by Jake Phillips in the first period, Justin Cain (shorthanded) in the second and Brett Specker in the third gave the Redmen a 3-1 lead with seven minutes left in the game. Cam Verigin assisted on Phillips' goal.

"All of a sudden, (Farmington United) scored three unanswered goals," MSHS head coach Mike L'Huillier said. "It was just a total collapse.

"On their last goal, a guy stickhandled through our whole team, deked (MSHS netminder Evan) Kyle and scored on the short side."

Kyle finished with 25 saves.
