K of C backs Special Olympics

The Knights of Columbus contributes to the 26th annual Special Olympics held recently at Northern Michigan University's Superior Dome. The Knights of Columbus presented a $5,000 check to Marie Martin, director of Special Olympics Area 36, to help fund the 26th annual Special Olympics. The money came from proceeds raised by the K of C's annual tootsie roll fundraiser drive. Shown at the presentation are, from left, Faithful Navigator Jim Butorac, Marvin Balbierz, Martin, District Marshal Charles Crotty Jr., District Deputy Dave Guenther, Joel LePage and Alvin Rosina.
