More answers needed on consulate attack

January 26, 2013
The Mining Journal
A grilling this week in both the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives of outgoing Secretary of State Hillary Clinton produced little — beyond the expected theatrics from both sides. Predictable? Yes. Regrettable? Very much so because the American people, indeed the entire world, still doesn’t have a full accounting of the events that led to the murder of the U.S. ambassador to Libya and three other Americans during an infamous Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya. We would take significant issue with Clinton’s perhaps rthetorical question, “What difference does it make ...?” The presumptive Democratic Party presidential nominee in 2016 should have known better than to make that statement. We would argue that when American lives are lost, it does matter — a great deal. With Clinton on the way out and the administration looking to move forward, it’s unclear where the investigative process will go from here. And that’s too bad because the full story is yet to be told.
