MARQUETTE - Evi Lindquist has been named director of the Marquette-Alger Great Start Collaborative.
Lindquist will administer the components of the Great Start Initiative and support the coordinated system of community resources used to help make every child safe, healthy and eager to succeed in school and life.
Lindquist has a bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University and has 15 years of education and community organization experience in the public health, school and community sectors.
"I look forward to serving our communities' most valuable resource. As a parent, I recognize the significance of building the foundation for our children's success," Lindquist said. "As a citizen, I understand the importance in community resources that support families who influence that foundation."
The Marquette-Alger Great Start Collaborative's vision is "A Great Start for every child in Alger and Marquette counties - safe, healthy and eager to succeed in their education and in life."
