MARQUETTE? - The Lake Superior Community Partnership has hired one new employee and promoted two others.
Denise Elizondo will serve as the Assistant to Economic Development and Operations, Derek Bush has been promoted to Business Development Representative and Caralee Swanberg has been promoted to Business Development Manager.
Elizondo graduated from Northern Michigan University in December 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing. Now serving as Assistant to Economic Development and Operations, she'll support the economic development team and is responsible for overall office maintenance and administrative functions.
Bush joined the LSCP in 2011 as the Regional Economic Development Liaison, serving local economic development organizations across the Upper Peninsula with access to state business development tools and resources. Bush graduated from Northern Michigan University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and a minor in Spanish. Before coming to work for the LSCP he interned with Governor Snyder's Executive Office in Marquette.
Swanberg has been with the LSCP since November 2010 as a Business Development Specialist. She is also a NMU graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations. Previously she worked in private development. Her focus will be on managing the LSCP business retention program and providing direct assistance to companies. She has been trained by the Edward Lowe Foundation in economic gardening technique to assist growing companies in meeting their development goals.
